Description: Juvenile Court Book Club, Inc. provides monthly book club sessions at Girls Rehabilitation Facility and boys and girls units in Juvenile Hall (both in Kearny Mesa) and at the East Mesa Detention Facility for boys in Otay Mesa. We are seeking adult volunteers who are articulate, literate and willing to read the monthly book club selection and lead the book club discussions with the youth we serve. Book club sessions are held on various weekdays throughout the month. Check the website at www.juvenilecourtbookclub.com for the schedule. We are also looking for one-on-one tutors for GED preparation and tutoring in Math and Reading. Tutors can be scheduled during the weekdays and some evening and weekend tutors are needed. ALL volunteers must complete a background check with Volunteers in Probation.
